Indian Army NCC Special Entry 2024 [56th Course – Oct 2024]

• Indian Army NCC Special Entry Vacancy 2024:

NCC Men: General Category – 45 Posts, Wards of Battle Casualties of Indian Army personnel – 05 Posts.

NCC Women: General Category – 04 Posts, Wards of Battle Casualties of Indian Army personnel – 01 Post.

• Indian Army NCC Special Entry 2024 Age Limit:

For National Cadet Corps (NCC) candidates (including wards of Battle Casualties) – Minimum 19 years and Maximum 25 years as on 01 July 2024.

Born not earlier than 02 Jul 1999 and not later than 01 Jul 2005; both dates inclusive.

Age Relaxation as per rules.

• NCC Special Entry 2024 Salary:

Lieutenant: Level 10 56,100 – 1,77,500

Captain: Level 10B 61,300 – 1,93,900

Major: Level 11 69,400 – 2,07,200

Lieutenant Colonel: Level 12A 1,21,200 – 2,12,400

Colonel: Level 13 1,30,600 – 2,15,900

Brigadier: Level 13A 1,39,600 – 2,17,600

Major General: Level 14 1,44,200 – 2,18,200

Lieutenant General HAG Scale: Level 15 1,82,200 – 2,24,100

Lieutenant Gen HAG+Scale: Level 16 2,05,400 – 2,24,400

VCOAS/Army Commander/ Lieutenant General (NFSG): Level 17 2,25,000/-(fixed)

COAS: Level 18 2,50,000/-(fixed)

• Eligibility Criteria for NCC Special Entry: 

For NCC ‘C’ Certificate Holders:

(1) Degree of a recognized University or equivalent with aggregate of minimum 50% marks taking into account marks of all the years/ semesters.

(2) Those studying in final year are also allowed to apply provided they have secured minimum 50% aggregate marks in the first two/three years. Such students will need to secure overall aggregate of minimum 50% marks if selected in interview failing which their candidature will be cancelled.

(3) Service in NCC – Should have served for minimum two academic years in  the senior Division/ Wing of NCC.

(4) Grading – Should have obtained minimum of ‘B’ Grade in ‘C’ Certificate Exam of NCC.

For Ward of Battle Casualties of Army Personnel:

(1) Degree of a recognized University or equivalent with aggregate of minimum 50% marks taking into account marks of all the years/ semesters.

(2) NCC ‘C’ Certificate not required.

• NCC Special Entry Physical Standards:

(a) Height and Weight – The minimum acceptable height is 157.5 cms with co-related weight and for women candidate is 152 cms and 42 Kg. In case of candidates belonging to the North East and Hilly Areas like Gorkhas, Nepalese, Assamese and Garhwalis, the height is relaxed by 5 cms and weight clickmensurate with reduced height. In case of candidates from Lakshadweep the minimum acceptable height is reduced by 2 cms.

(b) Visual Standards – For male candidate distance Vision (Corrected) better eye 6/6 and worse eye 6/18. Myopia should not be more than -3.5D and hypermetropia not more than +3.5D including Astigmatism. 

• NCC Special Entry Selection Process:

(a) Shortlisting of Applications – Integrated HQ of MoD (Army) reserves the right to fix cutoff percentage of marks for shortlisting of applications, without assigning any reason. After shortlisting of applications, the Centre allotment will be intimated to the candidate via their email. After allotment of Selection Centre, candidates will have to log in to the website and select their SSB dates on a first clicke first served basis, upto a specified date, as notified on website.

(b) Only shortlisted eligible candidates will undergo SSB at Selection Centres, Allahabad (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bangalore (Karnataka) and Kapurthala (PB). Call up letter for SSB interview will be issued by respective Selection Centre on candidates’ registered e-mail id and SMS only. Allotment of Selection Centre is at the discretion of Directorate General of Recruiting, IHQ of MoD (Army) and NO request for changes will be entertained in this regard.

(c) Candidates will be put through two stage selection procedure. Those who clear Stage I will go to Stage II. Those who fail in stage I will be returned on the same day. Duration of SSB interviews is five days and details of the same are available at Indian Army official website. This will be followed by a medical examination for the candidates who get reclickmended after Stage II.

(d) Candidates reclickmended by the SSB and declared medically fit, will be issued joining letter for training in the order of merit depending on the number of vacancies available.
