 National Institute of Technology Meghalaya invites applications in Prescribed Format from Indian Nationals and OCIs of all categories possessing consistently good academic record and requisite qualifications and experience for faculty positions in various Departments of the Institute. Reservation policy of Government of India will be followed. Interested candidates must fill-in on-line application form which will be made available on the Institute website (www.nitm.ac.in). The last date for receipt of the online application forms will be 29th February 2024 at 11:45 p.m.

 Online application form and other details will be available on the Institute website (www.nitm.ac.in) from 12 noon of 29.01.2024.

NOTE I: This being an open advertisement, relevant recruitment rules, instructions from the Ministry of Education (MoE), Govt. of India (GOI) issued till the date of interviews will be applicable as a part this advertisement.
NOTE 2: The number of positions for internal candidates is not restricted by the number of positions advertised at various levels. However, the total number of faculty positions will not exceed the sanctioned position for the institute.
Movement of faculty to higher Pay Level shall be carried out as per the prescribed selection process, even if there is no vacancy in a Department. This will be restricted to only the serving faculty members of NIT Meghalaya in the respective Departments.
NOTE 3: The number of positions may vary depending upon vacancies available and sanctions received from MoE, GOI
NOTE 4: Depending upon the number of applications received and the number of vacancies for faculty positions in a department, the Institute reserves the right to fix higher eligibility criteria for the shortlisting of the candidates for the selection process.
NOTE 5 The selection process for the new faculty positions shall be conducted in two stages:
Stage I- Candidates shortlisted after the scrutiny of applications shall be asked to make an Academic/Research presentation before an expert committee.
Stage II- The candidates shortlisted from Stage I shall be called for a personal interview. However, eligible serving candidates of NIT Meghalaya shall have to attend only Stage II of the selection process.
NOTE 6: The Institute reserves the right to modify / defer or cancel full / part of the Advertisement / Recruitment at any stage of processing without assigning any reasons thereof.
NOTE 7: Candidates applying against post reserved for OBC category must submit a valid (up-to-date) “Non Creamy Layer” caste certificate from the appropriate authority issued not more than six months before the closing date of the advertisement i.e 21 days from the date of publication of the advertisement in the Employment News/ Rozgar Samachar and shall have to produce the same at the time of joining.
NOTE 8: Candidates applying against post reserved for EWS category must submit a valid (up-to-date) “Income and Asset Certificate” issued by a Competent Authority not more than six months before the closing date of the advertisement i.e 21 days from the date of publication of the advertisement in the Employment News/ Rozgar Samachar and shall have to produce the same at the time of joining.

General Instructions and Information

  1. Only Indian nationals and OCIs need to apply.
  2. General/ OBC/ EWS Candidates are required to pay a NON-REFUNDABLE APPLICATION FEE of ₹ 1,000/- (Rupees One thousand only), SC/ST, PWD, Women candidates and serving faculty of NIT Meghalaya are completely exempted from paying the application fee. Candidates are advised to read details given in the “Check Payment Process” link carefully before making the payment.
  3. Reservations will be as per Government of India norms.
  4. Relaxation of age for candidates under the Reserved Categories shall be as per Govt. of India norms.
  5. Candidates need to apply in online mode only and do not need to submit any hard copy. The screening will be conducted based on the online copy and therefore candidates are requested to fill in all the details carefully. Any claim after final submission of the online copy will not be considered.
  6. The date for determining eligibility of candidates in every respect i.e., qualification, experience and preferred age limit etc. shall be considered as on the closing date, i.e., the last date of the submission of online application form, i.e. 29th February 2024.
  7. Persons in employment should submit their applications through the proper channel with a forwarding note of the employer. In such cases the online copy will be treated as an “Advance Copy”.
  8. Incomplete application, application received without Payment Receipt (when applicable), application not in the prescribed form and application without attachments of certificates/mark sheets, proof of date of birth, caste certificate, etc. will be rejected.
  9. Candidates are instructed to fill in the correct “SBI Collect Reference Number”, which will be auto-generated after the fee payment is correctly made, in the online application form. The reference number should match with that in the Payment Receipt received from the bank. Applications with randomly entered “SBI Collect Reference Number” will be rejected.
  10. The printout of filled-in application form should be retained by the candidate and will be produced during the time of the interview.
  11. Mere fulfilment of minimum qualification and experience do not entitle a candidate to be called for the interview.
  12. Candidates must possess the requisite educational qualifications, experience, and age on the last date of online application as declared in the advertisement / Institute Website.
  13. Applicants are advised to provide phone numbers and e-mail address in their own interest to facilitate prompt communication. If short-listed, all communications regarding interview, etc. will be made preferably through e- mail.
  14. The applicants are advised/required to visit the Institute website www.nitm.ac.in regularly. The list of candidates shortlisted for further participation in the selection process such as presentation/interview etc. will be displayed on the Institute website only.
  15. Applicants willing to apply for more than one -post / department must fill up separate application forms and deposit separate fees for each of the posts being applied.
  16. No TA/DA will be paid for attending test / interview.
  17. Any information furnished and certificates provided if found false, tampered, mutilated or suppressed and noticed at a later date shall be considered as disqualification for the post.
  18. Any corrigendum/addendum or modification, if any, would appear only on the Institute website (www.nitm.ac.in) and will not be published in any Newspaper.
  19. All information and updates in respect of the advertisement will be uploaded only on the Institute website (www.nitm.ac.in) and will not be published in any Newspaper. Candidates are advised to check the Institute website frequently.
  20. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
  21. Legal disputes, if any, with National Institute of Technology Meghalaya will be restricted within the jurisdiction of Shillong, Meghalaya only.

How To Apply Online

Step 1 – Visit the official website www.nitm.ac.in
Step 2 – Click on the ‘Apply Online’ link given in the Advertisement for Faculty Positions at NIT Meghalaya.
Step 3 – Users can register (click on “Register”) and proceed with the registration process by providing their basic personal and application fee payment details after which, they will be redirected to their complete application form page to complete the process.
Step 4 – Candidates can re-login again to their application profile to complete the form in case they are not able to complete filling up the form or want to make necessary changes.
Step 5 – Please read and follow the instructions mentioned in the form carefully, as you go on filling the form.
Step 6 – Users can do the final submission of their applications after which, they will not be allowed to make further changes to their applications except to view their status and take printout of the same.
